‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10’s episode 11, entitled “The Birthday Synchronicity," is set to feature Amy seducing her boyfriend Sheldon for an intimate birthday date night. However, her sexy surprise is set to be interrupted by the arrival of Bernadette and Howard Wolowitz’s baby.
The synopsis for episode 11 posted on Yahoo! News reads, “When everyone must gather at the hospital for the arrival of the Wolowitz baby, Amy's (Mayim Bialik) annual birthday present gets interrupted.”
The promo for “The Birthday Synchronicity” opens Sheldon (Jim Parsons) greeting Amy in bed with a loud birthday horn before they share a passionate kiss. Amy then attempts to seduce her boyfriend by dressing up as Harry Potter in her nightgown.
“I thought I’d let Harry Potter make things hotter,” Amy says by the bathroom door. Sheldon’s jaw drops and things get steamy for the two. The scene cuts to Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) looking excited as he checks her contractions.
Things don’t seem to go as planned for Amy and her birthday surprise when Penny (Kaley Cuoco) calls out from across the hall, “Hey! Bernadette’s water broke!” Leonard (Johnny Galecki) follows Penny out of their apartment in haste and adds, “Come on, everyone! To the hospital!” Amy calls out in exasperation as her intimate night with Sheldon is interrupted.
According to Variety, showrunner Steven Molaro revealed that they wanted Bernadette to finally give birth in the incoming episode saying that Bernadette had been pregnant for 11 months based on the series’ actual timeline. Molaro said, “We figured she ought to have this baby pretty soon.”
He also revealed, “We view (the baby) as another opportunity to grow our universe and find more stories that allow these characters to grow… We don’t see it as a giant DNA-changing event in what ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is.”
‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10’s episode 11, entitled “The Birthday Synchronicity," is scheduled to air on CBS on December 15, 2016.
