‘Stranger Things’ season 4: Interesting theories and plot predictions for the next installment

One of the favorite sci-fi shows on Netflix is definitely “Stranger Things” and it is set to return for its fourth season. Unfortunately, the premiere had to be moved to a later date as filming was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filming update

The production of “Stranger Things” season 4 was forced to go on hiatus for six months. The cast and crew were in the middle of filming in March when they had to stop as the lockdown was imposed around the world.

With that amount of time, the drama is apparently delayed when filming should have been completed by now. In fact, the original schedule for wrapping up the production was in August.

In any case, it was reported that filming has already resumed so fans can expect “Stranger Things” season 4 to be finished and released in early 2021.

Interesting theories and plot predictions

Now, while the show is still being filmed, avid fans are posting many theories and plot predictions. Some of them make a lot of sense and even the cast members are dropping hints on what can be expected when they return in “Stranger Things” season 4.

A different Hopper

In the finale of the third season, it was made to appear that Hopper has died in the chamber after sealing the passageway to Upside Down. But it turned out that he is alive but imprisoned in Russia.

There are suggestions that this Hopper could not be the same sheriff that the viewers have come to know. He is not the same Hopper in Hawkins, but this new one could be a bad one.

The theory is that the Russians could have brainwashed him, and he is now an enemy who will go against Eleven. Furthermore, The Sun noted that it is not clear what Hopper is exactly doing in Russia and how he got there.

Chernobyl catastrophe

Another theory of what may happen in “Stranger Things” season 4 is that the plot for this installment will focus on the powerful Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in Ukraine.

This could also be linked to the supernatural powers of Eleven and other people who are like her. Perhaps, they can also boost their abilities through the powerplant.

Dr. Brenner is alive

Finally, this may not be a theory but an actual plot in “Stranger Things” season 4 because it was Matthew Modine who teased that Dr. Brenner may also return like Hopper. The actor plays Dr. Martin Brenner and he said in an interview that no one saw his body, suggesting that his character may still be alive.

“I love that the fans are trying to figure out where Dr. Brenner is because we’re all wondering, you know, is he in the Upside Down?” he told NME. “Did the Demogorgon drag him away? Is he going to re-emerge? And the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, have said that unless you see a body, the character’s not dead.”
