“Stranger Things” season 4 will be hectic as the third season ended in a tragedy. However, fans will not be able to see what’s next any time soon as filming has been postponed when the COVID-19 happened and effectively disrupted production works.

It has been six months since filming has been halted and fans are wondering when the cast and crew will return to work. Everyone understands though that there is a great threat to the health of people around the globe so even if production is delayed like this, they would prefer for the team to be safe since they can wait for “Stranger Things” season 4 when it is ready.

The obvious delay of the fourth drama installment

Apparently, “Stranger Things” season 4 will not be released as they originally planned. Before the COVID-19 struck, the production team’s target was to complete filming by the first week of August. Because there was no filming for months, the fourth installment is already way behind the schedule and will not make it to the scheduled premiere set for early 2021 or even in the last part of 2020.

The good news is that the cast and crew will be back to work soon. It was reported by The Hollywood Reporter last month that “Stanger Things” season 4 will start filming again on Sept. 17. The cast already knows about it and they are just waiting for the final call to report to work.

Then again, one of the cast members, Maya Hawke who plays Robin Buckley, expressed her doubt in the resumption of filming. This is because the situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic may have improved a bit but it is still risky to get everyone on filming sites since the threat is still there.

The star told AP Entertainment that they will see if this plan will push through. She added that in her opinion, the given date for filming is not realistic at this time due to the situation. Then again, she trusts her production team and Netflix to take precautions and keep them safe in whatever decision they make.

Billy Hangrove’s return prediction

Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) played a big part in the third season of “Stranger Things” but sadly, he died after sacrificing himself to save Eleven. Now fans want to know if he can still return despite his fate in the finale of season 3.

Hopper is returning in “Stranger Things” season 4 even though he was believed to have died as well so it is also possible for Billy to show up in the upcoming season. Netflix Life predicted that Billy will not be in the drama anymore because his name is not included in the confirmed cast lineup for the fourth drama installment.

Finally, it was rumored that the series will be canceled after “Stranger Things” season 4 but showrunner Ross Duffer stated this is not true. He shared that they still have a lot to tell about the Upside Down and the characters so the end is not even close.
