Starbucks is one of the popular brands around the world, and with the growing popularity of plant-based foods, the coffee chain is also one of the Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) to offer such menu alternatives.
Starbucks has already released a few plant-based items for its food and beverage menu, and apparently, the company is not stopping there and actually expanding its vegan offerings. In fact, it has announced a new beverage that vegans will love, and it is called the Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
The new drink is dairy-free, and it was created through Starbucks’ own vegan development enterprise. The coffee giant has been integrating plant-based milk into its line of specialty drinks, and a new option has been formed once again.
The Beet noted that with the arrival of Starbucks’ Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, it will ultimately expand the store’s lineup of dairy-free espresso drinks as well as vegan beverage options. Currently, the cafe is offering four kinds of milk alternatives, and customers can choose from oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, and soy.
Starbucks’ new plant-based drink is made with the brand’s own Blonde espresso shot blended with caramelized vanilla and oat milk. The three are mixed together to perfection by a handshaking technique, and ice is added before being served. This cold drink only has less than 200 calories.
“Spring has officially sprung at Starbucks with the introduction of the new Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso on Tuesday, March 1,” Starbucks stated in a press release. “Customers can enjoy the new beverage alongside new and returning Starbucks packaged coffees and ready-to-drink beverages.”
Meanwhile, the new Starbucks plant-based espresso beverage is coming in time for spring. The coffee chain joined forces with Oatly to make the oat milk dairy-free alternative available in its stores around the world.
Spring starts on March 20 in the U.S., and the Iced Toasted Vanilla Oatmilk Shaken Espresso officially joins Starbucks’ two other vegan-friendly Spring classic flavors - the Iced Chocolate Almondmilk and the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk. The newly added flavor will be a permanent menu in the U.S.
