Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki have officially gone on their separate ways in July. This was after the Seoul Family Court approved their divorce application without much ado.
Now after Hye Kyo and Joong Ki called it quits and everything has been settled, the two of them went back to work. The actress has been in many photo shoots for her promotional projects but it is very noticeable that she has not been in any drama or movies since her split.
Joong Ki’s acting gigs
On the other hand, the “Descendants of the Sun” actor just completed his drama “Arthdal Chronicles” and it was soon followed by movies. He has been busy since completing his drama and now he is spending most of his time filming “Victory,” a South Korean film that was produced in partnership with a Chinese movie outfit.
It will be Korea’s first-ever sci-fi movie and will feature plenty of foreign actors. It was already previously divulged that Song Joong Ki will be working with the English actor Richard Armitage.
Aside from this, Song Joong Ki was also rumored to be replacing Gong Yoo in the movie sequel of “Train to Busan.” Although not much has been reported about it, this is likely Song Hye Kyo’s ex-husband’s next project.
Why Hye Kyo has no drama or movie projects
As said before, Song Hye Kyo only has only been working for ad deals since her divorce from Joong Ki. The actress has no drama or movies and even when she made her comeback in South Korea, there is no report about any acting gigs.
Finally, the reason she doesn’t have projects like Song Joong Ki and it was not because she was affected by her divorce. It was reported that a few months ago, she was offered to do the drama “Hyena” but she turned it down and the reason is not related to her personal affairs. Her agency denied that allegations that she rejected it due to divorce and exlained that it was because there was a conflict in schedule.
“It’s not true that the new drama Hyena reconsidered the casting after the divorce news,” Koreaboo quoted the actress’ agency as saying in a statement. “It’s true that Song Hye Kyo received an offer but she rejected it early on. It has nothing to do with her private matters.”
