“Sex Education” Season 2 is currently in its production phase with the cast and crew hard at work in delivering another satisfying entry following the massive praise that the first entry received. It’s expected that all of the main cast will be reprising their roles and it would be interesting to see what writer Laurie Nunn has drummed up this time around, Latin Times reported.
The previous installment ended on a bittersweet note for Maeve (Emma MacKay) after seeing Otis (Asa Butterfield) kissing Ola (Patricia Allison). One of the overarching plotlines of “Sex Education” Season 2 will be centered on this regard as Maeve and Otis awkwardly dance their way around each other’s emotions.
As the main premise of the series is expected to be kept in the second installment, Otis and Maeve will be forced to interact with each other. This time, however, their attraction will be pulsing beneath their sex therapy gig as they try to help their fellow students deal with various sexual complications in exchange for cash. It would be interesting to see who Maeve will be partnered with in “Sex Education” Season 2 now that her relationship with Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling) has been shaken.
Meanwhile, the connection between Adam (Connor Swindells) and Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) will also be explored in the second entry’s storyline. The last time that Eric saw Adam was when he got sent to military school after a string of bad behavior forced Adam’s father to make the decision. It’s still unclear how “Sex Education” Season 2 will inject Adam into its storyline and what sort of development he’ll undergo after he discovered that he’s attracted to men.
The filming for the upcoming installment is expected to end in September as revealed by series star Jim Howick who plays the hilarious Mr. Hendricks, Express reported. As such, it’s expected that “Sex Education” Season 2 will come out in 2020, perhaps as early as January if production and post-production don’t encounter any major hiccups.
