Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are done filming “Outlander” season 5 and as its premiere is just around the corner, the co-stars dropped some hints that will surely make everyone, especially the fans excited for their upcoming new drama installment.
The “Outlander” season 5 is based on Diana Gabaldon’s “The Fiery Cross” and it will continue Jamie and Claire Fraser’s journey in the Highlands. Now, the stars of the drama led by Heughan and Balfe recently had an interview with Entertainment Weekly and although they are not allowed to say much about “Outlander” season 5, they did not disappoint by revealing some interesting bits of info.
Someone is getting married - Who is it?
Sam Heughan disclosed that someone is getting married at the Fraser’s Ridge but who the couple is - is still a secret. In Gabaldon’s novel, there is no wedding scene so this will come as a surprise to the fans. He said that they have gathered and dressed up for the ceremony in “Outlander” season 5.
Heughan went on to say that Brianna (Sophie Skelton), Roger (Richard Rankin), Jamie, Claire, Lord John Grey (David Berry) and Governor William Tryon (Tim Downie) are all present in the event. Even with just a few possibilities, fans may find it hard to guess who the newlyweds would be since Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) and Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy), Jamie’s aunt, can also be considered as their romance has been blossoming in secret.
“Jamie’s actually in a really difficult situation this season,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s done a deal with the British, but he’s working for two different camps. He’s trying to protect his people, and he’s trying to protect Fraser’s Ridge.”
Jamie and Claire moments
As fans have been clamoring since the end of season 4, they will once again see Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s characters getting intimate. The fifth season will focus back on the story of the popular characters and “Outlander” executive producer Maril Davis promised fans that they will see more Jamie and Claire intimate moments again.
“We think the story is really interesting, and we are going to play it out and see,” Davis told Parade. “We hope that we still get in the fan-favorite moments, and still have those Jamie and Claire connections and those intimate moments that people are looking for.”
