Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe Tease Fans With BTS of ‘Outlander’ Season 5 Filming; Drop Hint on What to Expect in Drama

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are now officially filming for “Outlander” season 5, and they made sure that fans know what is up with them in Scotland. The pair which is also now serving not just the lead stars in the drama but executive producers as well posted photos of behind-the-scenes in their drama set and provided huge spoilers to the delight of the fans.

Firstly, it was revealed that “Outlander” season 5 will focus more on the Claire and Jamie Fraser as the Fraser’s Ridge was shown as the main location of the filming. They also mentioned that the family is growing with the addition of Brianna and Roger McKenzie’s son.

In the video shared by Starz, Sam Heughan announced that filming has begun. “ Hi guys, it is happening. Production has started,” he said.

Caitriona Balfe went on to say, "Fraser's Ridge is going to continue to be a big part of our story this season. This season we are getting bigger and better." Then, Sophia Skelton who plays Brianna excitedly added, "We're all here for that something special that fans are going to be excited to see."

Caitriona teased the fans further by saying that they have finished filming a lot just on the first day of the shooting. She then said that she couldn’t wait to see the finished work of “Outlander” season 5 and told fans that in this progress, they would be back on the small screen before everyone knows it.

In the behind-the-scenes clips, some of the cast that was already spotted and sure to return with Sam and Caitriona include Richard Rankin (Roger), Sophia Skelton and Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh Fraser).”Outlander” season 5 is based on Diana Gabaldon’s “The Fiery Cross” novel, and it will tackle not just Jamie and Claire’s life but Roger and Brianna’s too.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s “Outlander” season 5 has no specific release date yet. However, it is expected to be back before this year ends.
