The cast of “Outlander” has always been a closely-knit group, often times making fun of each other offset. Indeed, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe’s banter on social media is a well-documented fact by the series’ fan base.
Recently, however, it was Steven Cree’s exchange with Sam Heughan that got fans roaring with laughter. Some were even intrigued at the short back and forth. The conversation started when a fan noticed Cree’s height during his appearance on a new TV series.
The fan then asked if he’s become taller, to which the actor replied that the reason he looks relatively shorter in “Outlander” is due to Sam Heughan being absolutely “massive.” Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity, Caitriona Balfe’s on-screen partner tweeted “massive what?”
Cree, of course, picked up on the setup and only tweeted an emoji of a rooster. As can be expected, the fans absolutely lost it as they replied with hilarious gifs over at Twitter. On the professional side of things, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are gearing up to film the fifth installment of “Outlander.”
The next season will be telling the events that occurred in “The Fiery Cross,” with the plotline revolving around the impending civil war, a quest for vengeance, and maneuvering forces that are spiraling out of control. Claire (Catriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will be taking more screen time in the next installment, opposed to the previous season where their scenes were cut to accommodate other characters.
Behind the scenes, the lead stars have also been promoted to executive producers, which means their pay has been bumped as well. As for when “Outlander” Season 5 will air, STARZ has yet to announce anything given that filming hasn’t begun. But it’s expected that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe will be teasing the production of the series on their respective social media accounts, which will hopefully produce more hilarious moments in the future.
