The banter of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe has always been one of the highlights during the annual Droughtlander that fans have come to expect for the time-traveling drama. The recent development on this is the actress’ teasing remark about her co-star when Heughan posted a photo of himself sitting on top of a steep rise, Just Jared reported.
“There he is again... making loooove to the land! Get your butt off those rocks and back to work mate!!!” Catriona Balfe commented on Sam Heughan’s photo. The two are currently gearing up to film the fifth season of “Outlander,” the TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s novels of the same name.
The upcoming installment will tell the events that took place in “The Fiery Cross.” As expected, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will be trying to exact vengeance on the despicable smuggler/pirate, Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers). The brewing civil war also sweeps the Frasers into its strong current and the family has no choice but to maneuver themselves lest they get devoured by the forces operating within.
Amidst all these plotlines are the undercurrent that is highlighting female empowerment during a time when the very concept has been ignored by the large part of society. Executive producer Maril Davis previously said that although it’s difficult for them to incorporate this element, they are more than willing to try and are loving every second of it. And speaking of executive producers, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe has now been promoted to the position, which means both stars’ salaries have been bumped as well.
As for when “Outlander” Season 5 will air, Starz has yet to announce its release date. Even Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe don’t have an idea when it will be given that production hasn’t even begun. Hopefully, more information will be provided in the future as Droughtlander is proving another grueling crawl for the fans in the months to come.
