Russian strikes killed four civilians on Wednesday in Ukraine’s southeastern Dnipropetrovsk region, according to regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha. The deadly attacks targeted several small communities near the town of Synelnykove, located east of the regional capital, Dnipro, further escalating concerns over civilian safety in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Ganzha shared details of the incidents on Telegram, reporting that the strikes hit three separate localities in the Synelnykove area. In one village, a man was killed during shelling, while his wife sustained injuries and required medical assistance. In another nearby locality, a family tragedy unfolded when a couple and their 45-year-old son were killed in the attack. A separate man was also wounded in the same strike. In a third village, a woman suffered injuries as a result of the bombardment.
The Dnipropetrovsk region has frequently come under fire amid intensified Russian military operations in eastern and southeastern Ukraine. While front-line battles often dominate headlines, repeated missile strikes and artillery shelling in residential areas continue to inflict civilian casualties and damage vital infrastructure. Local authorities are working to assess the destruction and provide emergency support to affected families.
The attacks near Synelnykove underscore the persistent risks faced by civilians living far from the immediate front lines. Ukrainian officials have consistently condemned the targeting of populated areas, calling for increased international pressure and additional air defense support to protect communities in regions like Dnipropetrovsk.
As the conflict continues, humanitarian concerns remain high, with regional leaders urging residents to follow safety advisories and seek shelter during air raid alerts. The latest strikes serve as another stark reminder of the human toll of the war in Ukraine, particularly in vulnerable towns and villages across the Dnipropetrovsk region.
