“Riverdale” Season 3 Episode 21 will be the penultimate release for this installment and it’s going to be revealing the identity of the Gargoyle King. So far, there are two major suspects that have been hinted throughout this entry, Express reported.
The first is Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos), although he’s likely not the one going around dressing up as a horned forest deity. Instead, “Riverdale” Season 3 Episode 21 could reveal that he’s the one who’s been instructing the Gargoyle King to terrorize everyone in town.
Put simply, the King is someone under Hiram’s employment as it’s entirely plausible that the Gargoyle Gang is under his thumb. Another candidate is Edgar Evernever (Chad Michael Murray). Similar to Hiram’s situation, “Riverdale” Season 3 Episode 21 might be unmasking someone working under Edgar. As the leader of The Farm, the health guru is in a suspicious position to command a lot of people to take up the identity of the Gargoyle King.
This is doubly true since it’s already been shown that The Farm is able to induce hallucinations, including the appearance of this malicious entity. In “Riverdale” Season 3 Episode 21, it’s possible that the show will explain that Edgar using the Gargoyle King to recruit more members to his cult might be his motive for the whole thing.
After all, using fear to bring people into a cult is a classic tactic used by people operating in this sordid practices. However, there is one problem with these assumptions. The trailer of “Riverdale” Season 3 Episode 21 saw Ethel Muggs (Shannon Purser) telling Jughead (Cole Sprouse) the identity of the Gargoyle King.
And judging by Jug’s expression, it’s someone who everyone will not suspect. Hiram and Edgar being the primary candidates in people’s mind might be the showrunners’ way of distracting viewers who the real culprit is. Whatever the case, the Gargoyle King’s identity will soon be revealed once “Riverdale” Season 3 Episode 21 airs on May 8.
