‘Reign’ season 4’s episode 5, titled “Highland Games,” will follow Lord Darnley as he attempts to prove his loyalty to Mary in order to get her to marry him. Meanwhile, Catherine and Narcisse will work on repairing Charles’ reputation after rumors of his behavior threaten his hold on France’s monarchy.
The synopsis for “Highland Games” posted on TV Guide reads, “Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) must prove himself to Mary (Adelaide Kane) in order to get her to accept his marriage proposal. Elsewhere, Catherine (Megan Follows) and Narcisse (Craig Parker) have to do damage control after rumors spread regarding Charles' (Spencer MacPherson) eccentric behavior.”
The upcoming episode will follow Lord Darnley as he does everything in his power to get Mary on his side. The English nobleman with the blood claim to England’s throne may be getting closer to becoming Mary’s second husband, a powerful union that could possibly take down her cousin Elizabeth’s (Rachel Skarsten) hold in the realm. Kemp’s character was first introduced in season 4’s episode 1, titled “With Friends Like These.”
Mary has been in a fierce rivalry with Elizabeth, especially in the current season. According to Just Jared Jr., Kane explained Mary’s power play during a previous interview. The 26-year old Australian actress said, “She’s really hitting the ground running. She’s trying to make some smarter decisions, trying to be more of a political animal than she has been before.”
Kanr added, , “She’s really struggled in Scotland, so she’s actively working to secure her power there and her authority there as a strong leader and you know Mary — she doesn’t want to share her power with anyone, so that’s going to be an interesting conflict between her and potential suitors going into the fourth season.”
It will be interesting to see what Lord Darnley has to bring to the table in the upcoming episode. He must prove his loyalty when she expresses her concerns about his true intentions in order to get her to accept his offer of marriage.
Meanwhile, Catherine will be dealing with problems of her own. She and Narcisse will have to work hard to repair King Charles’ reputation after a series of rumors have begun to spread regarding his odd behavior, threatening his hold on the throne.
‘Reign’ season 4’s episode 5, titled “Highland Games,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 17, 2017. It was directed by Michael McGowan and written by Robert Doty. It will be followed by episode 6, titled
"Love & Death," directed by Megan Follows and scheduled to be released on March 24.
