‘Reign’ season 4’s episode 3, titled “Leaps of Faith,” will follow Mary as she is presented a marriage proposal by Gideon. She will have to consider the consequences of this marriage as her decision may change the course of history.
The synopsis for “Leaps of Faith” posted on TV Guide reads, “Charles (Spencer McOherson) behaves erratically, but Catherine (Megan Follows) covers for him as best she can. Meanwhile, Gideon (Ben Geurens) wants Mary (Adelaide Kane) to see what life could be like if she prioritizes love over country; and Claude (Rose Williams) and her sister Leeza (guest star Anastasia Phillips) become unexpected adversaries.”
The upcoming episode will follow Mary as she considers the political and personal ramifications of marrying someone like Gideon, the new English envoy of France who previously imprisoned in the Tower of London because of his affiliation with the Queen of Scots. However, Gideon was eventually released by Elizabeth and was tasked at seducing Mary.
The promo for episode 3 opens to Elizabeth and Gideon having a discussion about Mary and plotting their next move against the former’s cousin. Elizabeth insists, “Mary will always be a target.” Gideon then suggests, “What if she steps off her throne?”
The next scene cuts to Gideon proposing to Mary, “I’m asking you to marry me.” It will be interesting to see how Mary deals with this new development as she struggles with staying one step ahead of Elizabeth as well as securing her future as a ruler of a kingdom.
Meanwhile, Catherine has some trouble of her own. She will be forced to cover up her sick son Prince Charles’ erratic behavior, according to Christian Post. She will also have to deal with the increasing rivalry between her daughters Claude and Leeza.
‘Reign’ season 4’s episode 3, titled “Leaps of Faith,” is scheduled to air on February 24, 2017 on The CW. It was directed by Charles Biname and written by April Blair and Laurie McCarthy. It will be followed by episode 4, titled “Playing with Fire,” scheduled to be released on March 3.
