Are we going to be seeing a king soon leading the British monarchy? This could be the case if Queen Elizabeth II will announce her official retirement, as many reports have it.

In OK! magazine's June 1, 2020 issue, they wrote that the rumors started when a report last May 11 claimed that Queen Elizabeth will be taking a break from all her public duties so she may not be affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

However, an insider from the Royal Family told OK! that the 94-year-old Queen may be stepping back for good and will be relinquishing the throne soon.

And, the insider continued that the new king will most likely be her firstborn son, Prince Charles, and not her grandson, Prince Edward.

Although Prince Edward and his wife Kate have been a big help to the Queen in these global pandemic times, she believes that her son, Prince Charles, will be capable and willing to lead the British monarchy. And, she will be there to help Prince Charles with the transition.

The past few months have been very challenging for the Queen; the insider continued. Although she has been coping well considering her age, still the stress will not be good for her as she's had to deal with a lot.

Aside from the COVID-19 pandemic, Queen Elizabeth had to contend with having her grandson, Prince Charles, and his wife, American actress Meghan Markle, resign from their royal duties and opt to live in Los Angeles.

The insider further added that the Queen also had to deal with the rift between her grandsons, brothers Prince Edward and Prince Harry, while their wives are feuding.

She also had to face the controversy that resulted from her second son, Prince Andrew's connection to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Fortunately for the Queen, she had the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Edward, and Kate, to lean on. The two have been the Queen’s rock, said the insider, and that she does not know what she would do if they were not by her side.

The British monarchy has always been a favorite topic of rumors which see print in several publications regardless if verified or not. So, unless an official announcement is made, we will have to wait and see.

It remains to be seen if these speculations are true. However, with OK! Magazine's reputation for creating stories based on the claims of its unreliable sources, this could be another baseless report waiting to be debunked.
