Mary Kate Olsen’s divorce from husband Olivier Sarkozy is getting ugly. This, after she has been ordered to pack and leave the New York City apartment that they had shared.
According to the June 1, 2020 issue of the Life & Style, Mary Kate made a request for an emergency order to file for divorce as Sarkozky had terminated the lease to their apartment without letting her know.
Mary Kate had signed a divorce petition last April, but it was not accepted by the court because of the Coronavirus 2019 (CoVid-19) pandemic.
Life & Style's source said that Mary Kate and her husband had been arguing for quite a long time already and that it has reached the point that they could no longer stand the sight of each other.
While Mary Kate wants to get done and over with everything, including the divorce quickly, Sarkozky is making it difficult for her. He is said to be angry and is being very bitter about it.
He had given Mary Kate a deadline to leave the apartment, but the 33-year-old designer said she could not do so because of the stay-at-home guidelines put in place by New York City due to the CoVid pandemic.
She wants the petition for divorce to be immediately filed because the court would automatically delay the eviction. Thus, Sarkozy will not be able to dispose of her belongings.
Mary Kate had also asked the prenup that they signed before they got married in 2015 of November to be enforced, the source added.
The 50-year-old Sarkozy may be a banker, but his net worth is nowhere near Mary Kate, who is valued at $250 million.
Mary Kate co-owns and operates a clothing line—The Row with twin sister Ashley. Both are also former child stars.
