‘Quantico’ season 2’s episode 8, entitled “Odenvy”, will feature Alex attempting to stop a biological weapon before it is too late. It will also feature a “shocking betrayal” from one of her trusted allies. Meanwhile, showrunner Josh Safran revealed that the series will shift its focus from terrorism following the recent U.S. election results.
The synopsis for “Odenvy” posted on Cartermatt reads, “At the Farm, Lydia (Tracy Ifeachor) and Owen (Blair Underwood) teach the group about the necessity of lying and cutting off relationships. Perfect timing for Alex (Priyanka Chopra), since she is feeling disconnected from Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) personally and professionally. In the future, Alex and company attempt to destroy the biological weapon.”
The incoming episode will also feature a “shocking betrayal” as teased by the episode 8 promo. Alex decided to put her trust on Dayana (Pearl Thusi), Harry (Russell Tovey), Leon (Aaron Diaz) and Sebastian (David Lim) but one of them may be out to betray her.
During a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Josh Safran revealed that the series will shift dramatically from it terrorism-centered theme in future episodes following the results of the U.S. elections. Safran said, “We always had a plan to transition away from terrorism [around] midseason, because we ourselves were feeling like we didn’t want to put that out into the world anymore.”
He continued, ‘The day after Election Day], we shut down talking about the episode we were on and just talked globally about [the show]. It was already kind of in line with current events, unfortunately, and we just made sure [to ask], ‘How do we make sure this is a show that reflects how the world could and should be, and maybe not the way that it is?’”
The American drama-thriller series follows two linear timelines. One follows Alex during a time when she was a young recruit for the FBI and CIA and the other in the future, when terrorists attack New York City.
Safran added, “In a time of next-to-no hope, it’s important to reflect hope. We were planning that anyway, but we’re making sure to push that even futher.” He revealed that the plot will shift its focus on Claire Haas’ (Marcia Cross) transition into the new president of the United States.
‘Quantico’ season 2’s episode 8, entitled “Odenvy”, is scheduled to air on ABC on November 27, 2016. It was directed by Reza Tabrizi and written by Justin Brenneman. Episode 8 is intended as the season’s winter finale.
