The spinoff of the popular “Power” series has premiered and fans are grateful for giving them more episodes since they don’t want the show to end in the first place. “Power Book II: Ghost” episode 2 is the upcoming chapter to watch and it will still follow Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) who just returned to school and attending an Ivy League school.
At this time, James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) has been laid to rest already and Tasha (Naturi Naughton), his wife, has been apprehended and locked up in jail. Tariq is alone and he wants his mom back by his side.
Episode recap
In “Power Book II: Ghost” episode 2 titled “Exceeding Expectations” and it showed Tariq returning to his old thug life. In the official plot summary posted on Starz’s page, it says that Tariq is “haunted by the legacy of his father and he tries to understand who James St. Patrick was to the people in his life, how it's shaped his own life, and how the memories of his father define the man he wants to become.”
Apparently, Tariq has come to accept the reality that he is still Ghost’s son and he could be like him too as his blood runs in him after all. On the other hand, Tasha was also thinking about her ex-husband while locked up. She’s looking back but everything is too late now.
As the mother and son reminisce about Ghost in the premiere of “Power Book II: Ghost,” the newcomer Monet (Mary J Blige) was shown getting interested in Tariq. In the next episode, the college boy may get involved with the businesswoman as he tries to work to free his mother.
Spoilers - What to expect
“Power Book II: Ghost” episode 3 has been titled “Play the Game” and its synopsis reads: “Tariq struggles with the weight of providing for his mother's mounting legal defense while juggling the rigors of Ivy League life.”
This will pick up from the events in the second episode where Ghost’s son has returned to school and while trying to keep up with his studies, he is also doing illegal business at the side. He was forced to do this because there is no way he can earn a big sum of money to pay the fees of his mom’s greedy lawyer.

“Power Book II: Ghost” episode 3 will air on Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. on Starz. Decider noted that fans can also watch this show on Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. The Starzplay app is also available for download via Google Play.
