Park Shin Hye is known for her roles in rom-com dramas, but this time, she is challenging a role that she has never done before. The actress is set to appear in the mystery thriller movie titled “Call,” and she shared why she agreed to do this project.
Shin Hye’s thoughts on “Call”
“There are stories that stimulate my imagination as I read on,” The Korea Herald quoted Shin Hye as saying during the press conference that was held in Seoul early this week. “They make me wonder how alike or different those imaginations will be when the stories are actualized on the set.”
It was said that Park Shin Hye revealed that she got goosebumps while reading the script of the movie, and this is enough to confirm that “Call” is quite a scary film. She is acting alongside Jeon Jong Seo, an actress who was immediately recognized as soon as she debuted in Lee Chang Dong’s 2018’s film called “Burning.”
Jong Seo is playing the woman from 1999 who keeps calling Shin Hye’s character, who is living in the present time of 2019. The calls began when Shin Hye tried to change the future. At any rate, in another interview, Park Shin Hye said that she wants to do “Call” because this is a genre that she hasn’t tried yet despite being in the acting field for a long time already.
“I haven’t tried this movie genre yet, and I picked ‘Call’ because I find Seo Yeon’s character very charming,” Soompi quoted her as saying. “She has a side to her that’s completely different from the upright characters I’ve played so far, so it felt really new and made acting fun.”
Facts about “Call”
This movie is a mystery thriller that tells the story of two women from different times. The two of them live in the same house, but one resided in the home in 1999 while the other is in the year 2019. They are suddenly able to connect with each other through phone calls.
The other cast members include Lee El, Kim Sung Ryung, Oh Jung Se, and Lee Dong Hwi. It is directed by Lee Chung Hyeon and set to be released in cinemas in March.
