‘One Piece’ chapter 1000 release date, spoilers: History of Big Mom and Kaido’s alliance and the secret of ‘One Piece’ revealed

At long last, the much-awaited “One Piece” chapter 1000 is coming, and this will be a historical event for the fans, especially its creator Eiichiro Oda. This is a milestone that is hard to attain, and it took Oda 20 years to achieve this.

Since “One Piece” chapter 1000 is such an important occasion, it was said that it will surely be a special episode. For the story, many believe that the battle in Onigashima will be more intense than ever and possibly close to its conclusion already.

Chapter recap

In the previous chapter 999 titled “The Sake I Brewed to Drink With You,” Kaido and Big Mom were shown to have started reminiscing their past as they renewed their alliance. The two are also expecting a big event, so they sealed their team up once again to be able to fight together whatever it is that is coming.

Some flashbacks about Ace were also shown and it was from three years ago when he landed on the Onigashima island. He and his crew planned to attack Kaido but at that time, Ace faced Yamato instead as Kaido was away.

They were very surprised to hear that Kaido has a daughter and while fighting, Ace learned that Yamato also wants to leave her father’s land and go to Wano because she believes in Oden Kozuki. As they clash, Ace accidentally damaged Kaido’s dragon statue.

In the current time, Marco took Zoro to the rooftop of the Dome and while on the way, they faced King and Queen. As this happened, Marco suddenly recalls how Whitebeard stop himself from going back to Wano to take down Kaido. He did not allow Ace to go by himself since they know that even with Ace’s crew, there will definitely be massive casualties.

Big Mom was already on the roof with Kaido and she commanded him to kill the Straw Hat Pirates except for Robin because she needs him to read the Poneglyphs. As for the Onigashima island, Kaido finally reveals that he intends to bring it to the Flower Capital and plant it on the Kozuki Family's castle. Chapter 999 ended with Big Mom asking Kaido to repay her for the Devil Fruit on God Valley that she bestowed upon him almost four decades ago.

Spoilers - What to expect

Now, in “One Piece” chapter 1000, the story will continue as usual. Then again, there could be more flashbacks to show what happened in God Valley Island and how Big Mom has given Kaido his devil fruit.

It was also predicted that the mystery of “One Piece” will finally be explained in the 1000th chapter. This means that stunning revelations may be in store for the readers such as the origin of the devil fruits and more.

Weekly Shonen Jump also teased that “One Piece” chapter 1000 will feature a poster that will honor the artists who contributed to this special chapter. It will be posted as the cover for the upcoming issue and it has been described as the biggest poster in Jump's history.

In any case, “One Piece” chapter 1000 is coming on Jan. 3, 2021. As usual, it will be published on VIZ Media via the Shonen Jump section.
