“One Piece” Chapter 969 will officially arrive in a couple of days. However, some fans already got hold of some scans and there are talks about what the recent installment contained currently making their rounds on the net.
Fans who do not want to read spoilers but prefer to wait for the official release, please leave now. This article will also briefly touch on where the manga storyline could be heading in “One Piece’ Chapter 970.
Orochi wasn’t saved by Kaido
In the previous chapter, Oden stormed Orochi’s castle to avenge Toki who was injured in a previous attack. While Oden appears to almost succeed in his attack, there were speculations that he will be stopped by Kaido. But it looks like their highly anticipated meeting will only happen in “One Piece” Chapter 970.
Instead, Oden wasn’t able to kill Orochi because of Kurozumi Semimaru, owner of the devil Bari Bari no Mi devil fruit which allows him to cast barriers. With a barrier surrounding Oden, can do nothing against the fake Shogun.
Sukiyaki didn’t appoint Orochi as regent
One of the biggest mystery in the Wano arc is why Oden’s father, Sukiyaki, decided to appoint Orochi as the Regent to rule the country until Oden’s return. It turns out that it wasn’t Sukiyaki who made the appointment at all.
Rather, it was Kurozumi Higurashi, the person who first approached Orochi and told him of the plan to make him Shogun. It was revealed that Higurashi is the former owner of Mane Mane no Mi. He has the ability to shapeshift into anyone he previously had contact with.
Oden demanded that Orochi hand over the title of Shogun to him. Of course, Orochi would never do such a thing as they’ve been plotting to go back in power for so long.
Oden’s becomes the Idiot Lord
The people of Wano became disappointed when nothing happened after Oden’s return. But a few hours later, Oden was seen dancing naked in the street basically making a fool out of himself.
Seeing Oden’s antics, the people of Wano began to lose respect. They soon began to call him the Idiot Lord, which is also the title of the chapter.
It is yet unknown what deal Oden entered into with Orochi for him to behave this way. But knowing Oden, he must have gotten the short end of the bargain and Orochi likely made a promise that he does not intend to keep. Orochi’s purpose is clear, which is to discredit Oden in front of all people of Wano.
“One Piece” Chapter 970 speculations
It looks like Oden will finally meet Kaido in the upcoming chapter. In the latter part of chapter 969, Oden was seen worked up. “Kaido, I will make him pay,” Oden said as he gathered the Nine Red Scabbards.
Unfortunately, Oden’s demise will likely happen in “One Piece” Chapter 970. It is highly likely that Orochi’s visit to Kuri is to make Oden mad so we will attack Kaido and fall into a trap.
