‘One Piece’ Chapter 914 Release Date, Spoilers: 5 Theories About Luffy and Straw Hats' Fate After 1-Week Hiatus

Eiichiro Oda’s widely popular manga series is having another week of hiatus so there will not be a new story coming out next week. Meanwhile, this also gives more time for fans to speculate on what’s going to happen to Luffy and the others once the Wano arc continues in “One Piece” chapter 914.

First, Recap on Chapter 913

Before digging into the possible plots for “One Piece” chapter 914, fans can first recall what happened in the previous chapter. For the most part, it revolved around the anticipated battle between Luffy and Zoro against Basil Hawkins and his minions.

Though Luffy and Zoro are some of the great fighters in the series, Hawkins unleashed the powers of his Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. At one point, Luffy and Zoro aimed an attack at Hawkins but the latter was able to project it to his minions, leaving him unharmed. But, in the end, he absurdly decided not to chase after Luffy and the heavily wounded Zoro.

Theory 1: Luffy Finds the Straw Hat Pirates

One of the highly anticipated events in “One Piece” chapter 914 is the reunification of Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates. It can be recalled that he mysteriously got separated from Sanji, Nami, Chopper, and Brook at the beginning of the Wano arc. But now that the story is seemingly closing in on the meeting of Luffy and Kaido, the main protagonist will surely need some backup.

Theory 2: Trafalgar Law’s Heart Pirates Arrive in Wano

This one is somehow a giveaway considering that Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi — members of Heart Pirates — were all spotted on the last pages of chapter 913. Though the illustration does not reveal much, the said pirates were obviously within or somewhere near Wano and could be included in more dialogues in “One Piece” chapter 914. They are likely going to find Sanji, Nami, Brook, and Chopper first. While they are “atop a certain mountain,” Penguin is spotted looking through binoculars and said, “I’m tellin’ ya, that’s them! The Straw Hats!”

Theory 3: Luffy Lets Zoro Check Out the Nidai Kitetsu

One funny scene in chapter 913 was when Zoro noticed the Nidai Kitetsu sword on Luffy’s back for the first time. Zoro is a great swordsman so he tried to tell Luffy about them using the sword. But fans knowing Luffy would figure that the main protagonist still opted to throw punches. But Zoro and Luffy are likely in a less tense scene at the start of “One Piece” chapter 914. Zoro might take that opportunity to use the Nidai Kitetsu and he might have more information about the cursed sword.

Theory 4: Luffy Begins Planning vs. Kaido

If the Heart Pirates find the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates and then be reunited with Luffy in “One Piece” chapter 914, it could lead to a big progress in the Wano arc. The protagonists could start planning (or just went straight for an attack) against Wano’s invader, Kaido.

Theory 5: Updates on Sanji, Nami, Chopper, and Brook

It can be recalled that since chapter 910, the rest of the Straw Hats crew have not been seen in the manga series. Of course, there is still a chance that Luffy will remain separated from them in “One Piece” chapter 914. But there is also a chance that fans are getting a good amount of update on the whereabouts of Nami, Sanji, Brook, and Chopper.

Wild Theory: Hawkins Befriends Luffy to Fight Kaido

The lingering theory before “One Piece” chapter 914 arrives is that Hawkins plans to form an alliance with Luffy and fight Kaido as well. It can be recalled that members of the Beast Pirates immediately told Hawkins that people (the Straw Hats) arrived in Wano back in chapter 911. But Hawkins convinced them to not tell Kaido and that he will handle it himself.

However, when he faced Luffy and Zoro in chapter 913, he eventually let them escaped even if he had the upper hand with help from his Devil Fruit. In much earlier chapters, it can be recalled that Hawkins was actually allied with pirates that were enemies to the Yonko — one of them is Kaido. However, he eventually sought to become Kaido’s subordinate, preventing going to prison like Eustass Kid. Is it possible that Hawkins really wants out of Wano and Kaido’s command and he will reveal this to Luffy in “One Piece” chapter 914?

As mentioned, “One Piece” chapter 914 is going for a week off so it is not going to be released on the expected date next week. It is now anticipated to officially be available on Aug. 20.
