Movie fans are still clueless about the production status of “Now You See Me 3.” However, the possibilities for the third movie’s plot are practically endless, as it showed in the first two films. One of the subjects that the movie has yet to explore vastly is the Eye, so it would not be surprising if it ends up being the core of the next movie’s plot.
‘Now You See Me 3’ plot, cast: Does the Eye have more members?
In the first movie, the Eye was floated as merely an ancient secret society of magicians and illusionists. The entire film established the talents of the Four Horsemen and, eventually, the man behind all the grand plans – Dylan Shrike (Mark Ruffalo). The Eye took a more central role in the second movie’s plot as four more members of the Eye was introduced. However, it happened so late in the film that it could very well be the focus on “Now You See Me 3.”
Early in the second movie, Lula (Lizzy Caplan) joked about the possibility that the Eye has been watching them throughout their misadventures in Asia. It turned out to be true. Dylan’s father, Lionel Shrike, was confirmed as a member of the group and was the partner of Morgan Freeman’s Thaddeus Bradley. Owners of the first-ever magic shop, Bu Bu (Tsai Chin) and Li (Jay Chou), were also confirmed members of the Eye along with Allen Scott-Frank (Henry Lloyd-Hughes). This could be suggesting that the Eye has many more members around the world waiting to be introduced in “Now You See Me 3.”
For this to happen, the “Now You See Me 3” plot must have a bigger problem for the Four Horsemen to solve that would require other Eye members to surface. It should also be noted that since 2016, Benedict Cumberbatch has been rumored to join the third movie. But the actor has yet to address these reports.
‘Now You See Me 3’ release date: When does the next movie arrive?
It was reported over two years ago that the early efforts to develop “Now You See Me 3” have started. But since then, Lionsgate has been silent about the future of the movie project. Online movie sources like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb are listing the third movie with a 2020 release date, but this could only be a placeholder and not an actual schedule for its premiere.
