Nestlé is adding a coffee-flavored line of sparkling mineral waters with a gentle boost of caffeine to its S.Pellegrino Essenza portfolio.
The three flavor combinations set to launch in the US this spring are vanilla and coffee, cocoa and coffee, and caramel and coffee.
Bottled at the source in Italy, the new zero-calorie line is free from sweeteners and contains 30mg of caffeine, which is around one-third of the amount in an average cup of coffee.
The premium sparkling mineral water flows naturally from a thermal spring in San Pellegrino Terme.
According to Sara Mayer, senior marketing manager for S.Pellegrino, they are building on the popularity of their fresh Mediterranean fruit flavors to turn to Italian coffee bars as inspiration for the new line.
S.Pellegrino Essenza was launched in the US in 2019 with flavors inspired by Mediterranean fruits.
With a standard retail price of $5.99 for an eight-can fridge pack, the coffee-flavored S.Pellegrino Essenza line will roll out to US retailers nationwide this spring.
