Nestlé Waters allocates $130 million in regenerating local water cycles

Nestlé Waters will coordinate with local water users, communities, partners, and global experts and will go beyond its operations.

Nestlé Waters will invest approximately $130 million to implement over 100 projects that would regenerate local water cycles in each of its 48 sites by 2025.

The company will coordinate with local water users, communities, partners, and global experts and will go beyond its operations. It will also tailor the work to individual locations, needs, and issues in addressing shared water challenges.

In 2017, Nestlé Waters committed to having all of its water and bottling sites certified by the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), aiming to promote responsible water use by 2025.

Nestlé Waters added that the effort would help nature retain more water than it uses in its operations.

Among the company's projects are land conservation and natural flood management interventions at its site in Buxton, UK; and river restoration and renaturation projects in Vosges, France, where the Vittel bottled water operates.

Cédric Egger, head of sustainability at Nestlé Waters, noted that the company wanted to go beyond the conserving water sources to help regenerate and restore water cycles in their areas of operation.
