As one of the most popular shows on Netflix, it was inevitable that “Narcos” Season 4 would be making its way to the internet streaming service. This was despite the real dangers that the crew faced when shooting a show of this nature. In the upcoming season, the program is going to be focusing on a new drug cartel. New DEA agents will be introduced, as well.
As Otaku Art notes, Narcos faced a bit of a jam when its location scout was killed while looking for places to film in Colombia. This put the whole operation in jeopardy since no one wanted to work on a project that could end in their death. As such, there was a real possibility that “Narcos” Season 4 would not become a reality.
In the end, however, it would seem that the showrunners found a way to continue the series. This time, though, the cartel in focus will be the one in Guadalajara. This particular cartel arguably has some equally ruthless criminal running it, which “Narcos” Season 4 should showcase. While they don’t compare to the popularity of Pablo Escobar’s drug empire, their introduction to the show should still prove quite exciting.
In the teaser that was released for “Narcos” Season 4, it was revealed that Diego Luna and Michael Peña would be leading the show. There have been some concerns with regards to the potential hazards presented by the change, but season 3 of the show proved that it could be great without Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura).
With this being the case, there is every reason to be hopeful that “Narcos” Season 4 will be just as good or even better than previous seasons. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting for the actual show to come back since Netflix has yet to provide a release window.
