Filming is still ongoing with “NCIS” Season 16 and hints about the upcoming scenes are slowly making their way to the public. In a recent post on social media, for example, one of the writers shared some neat details with fans that might put the setting in the skies. If not, it will at least be somewhere with a lot of planes surrounding the actors. The next season should feature more scenes of Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) undercover, as well.
The setting hint was provided by Christopher J. Waild who is one of the writers of “NCIS” Season 16. In a Twitter post, he shared a photo of him in front of a giant plane with propellers. He capped this off with the caption “I feel the need...the need for speed... Day Four. Episode 357,” which is a reference to the famous quote from “Top Gun.”

This could mean one of two things. Either there will be scenes in episode three of “NCIS” Season 16 that involves flying or it could mean that a crime was committed in an airport filled with military aircraft. Either way, it’s likely going to be a fantastic episode.
As Carter Matt notes, such a change would be refreshing for a series that has been running as long as this one. Anytime the characters are out on the field offers viewers something new and exciting to hook them in. This goes double for Eleanor Bishop who did an excellent job going undercover last season. She should do more of that in “NCIS” Season 16.
When she did it in season 15, Bishop proved quite adept at the role of pretending to be someone else, Hidden Remote points out. It makes for a refreshing shift in how viewers can see the character, who seems unsure as herself. By going out in the field more often in “NCIS” Season 16, Bishop could show even more sides of herself in.
