The mission to Mexico to rescue Shay Mosley's (Nia Long) son may be the biggest cliffhanger that “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 needs to wrap up. The season 9 finale's shocking end has fans worried that the show is about to get even more serious about thinning down its cast plotwise.
“NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10's preview trailer shows a recap of the season 9 finale, with Grisha Callen (Chris O'Donnel), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), and Marty Deeks' (Eric Christian Olsen) truck being hit by an explosive weapon as they were making their way back to American soil. The team had already successfully rescued Mosley's son but now they are in jeopardy, with Spencer Williams's (Lamont Thompson) men pulling them out of the wreckage.
In the trailer, Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) mentions having five dead agents in Mexico. While the preview reveals Callen, Sam, Kensi, and Deeks more or less in one piece, there is one other character whom the retired admiral may be right about having met their fate and won't be coming back for “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10.
Fans will remember that Special Agent Harley Hidoko (Andrea Bordeaux) went ahead of Callen's team to Mexico in search of Mosley's son. Unfortunately, the team found a burnt human body in the same location where Hidoko's tracker stopped working. Fans may not be seeing Harley Hidoko anytime soon in “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10.
But there is also the chance that someone from Callen's team won't make it back from Mexico. While the four NCIS agents are still alive for the premiere of “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10, Kensi and Deeks look to be separated from Callen and Sam. Kensi and Deeks may be in the custody of Williams's men. But even if Callen and Sam were able to evade capture, it seems that both of them have injuries that would make it tough for the duo to mount a rescue mission for Kensi and Deeks.
Fans of the CBS's spinoff series can look forward to “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 returning on air with its premiere episode on Sept. 30.
