NBA team Dallas Mavericks will give its DallasMavs.Shop customers a $25 e-gift card if they pay with cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash, and dogecoin in a promo dubbed “Mavs Cryptomania.”
Billionaire Mark Cuban, the team owner, is a big crypto assets proponent, which is why the Mavs became the first NBA team to accept dogecoin for tickets and merchandise.
Cuban, like Tesla’s Elon Musk, believes the Dogecoin (DOGE) is the ”strongest” cryptocurrency for payments.
Consequently, the Mavericks were hodling DOGE they were paid with.
The Mavericks' sales in dogecoin have jumped 550 percent over the past month and the team has now sold over 122,000 Doge in merchandise, according to Cuban, who tried to persuade talk show host Ellen Degeneres to get into the said cryptocurrency.
The DallasMavs.Shop accepts BTC, BCH, ETH, USDC, GUSD, PAX, BUSD, and DOGE.
Customers must spend a minimum of $150, before tax and shipping. The reward promotion is valid from August 13 to September 30, 2021.
The e-gift card will be emailed between “5-7 business days after order is placed” and expires at the end of the year.
Cuban noted that the DOGE could only be used for spending or for HODL, and it's cheap.
The team owner says many observers miss out on when they see the DOGE’s “imperfections,” which they were not aware is its greatest strength, along with simplicity.
