Just as expected, Shigaraki still has a few more tricks up his sleeve even after getting pummeled with One For All by Deku in the previous chapters. However, “My Hero Academia” chapter 286 will also show that there are more ways Deku can get substantial help, and this time it is coming from someone he does not expect.
‘My Hero Academia’ chapter 286 leaks: Who can help Deku as AFO seems to take control of Shigaraki
“My Hero Academia” chapter 286 picks up from the latest events including an attack apparently made by All For One himself. The last panel of chapter 285 showed Bakugo getting stabbed by the black tendrils of Forced Quirk Activation. The next chapter opens with Deku and Bakugo where the latter comments on how Izuku tried to win the battle without seeking help from his friends.
With AFO now seemingly having control over Shigaraki’s body, he will comment in “My Hero Academia” chapter 286 that blood has been shed in vain on the battlefield. He appears to be referring to Bakugo, which then angers Deku because it insults the huge sacrifice Bakugo just did.
In the latter pages of “My Hero Academia” chapter 286, Deku appears to be in the vestiges for One For All. Deku then finds AFO and Shigaraki in the middle of a conversation as they struggle for control. Shigaraki insists on not letting AFO completely take over his body citing his “will” and “dream.”
After seeing this, Deku passes out but is caught by Nana who grabs him by his head and reportedly tells the current OFA user, “You can’t move in this world yet. We’ll do something about that.” While “My Hero Academia” chapter 286 ends in a cliffhanger, it seems like a glimmer of hope to see a powerful OFA predecessor intervene and offer help to the heroes who appear to be losing.
‘My Hero Academia’ chapter 286 spoilers: Where is Gigantomachia now?
“My Hero Academia” chapter 286 also gives an important, albeit brief, update on the whereabouts of Gigantomachia. The monster decided to abandon the fight with the UA students and start destroying cities as he moves toward where Shigaraki is.
An eagle-eyed fan commented that the leaked scans of “My Hero Academia” chapter 286 shows Giganto’s background and hints that the villains are down to eight cities (from 20) before they reach Shigaraki. This is an important clue because even without Giganto, some of the best active heroes are barely surviving the fight against Shigaraki. Soon, Giganto could be arriving on the battlefield as well.
