The production of “My Hero Academia” season 5 has been confirmed for a while now, and fans might now have an idea when the new episodes will arrive. A report emerged online on Wednesday that the season will premiere in spring 2021.

‘My Hero Academia’ season 5 release date is sooner than expected

People following the anime are some of the luckiest group of fans because they did not have to spend months guessing whether or not the series is having another installment. The making of “My Hero Academia” season 5 was confirmed a couple of days before the fourth season ended through the Weekly Shonen Jump issue #18 last April. Since not everyone has access to the magazine, another announcement was placed by the end of the season 4 finale.

Those were all the official announcements fans heard about “My Hero Academia” season 5 until this week. A couple of reliable anime and manga leaks sources have tweeted, a few minutes apart, on Wednesday that the broadcast of the next season will start sometime in spring 2021.

“My Hero Academia” season 5 is another powerhouse addition to the anime spring 2021 lineup. Before its release window was reported, it was already confirmed that the reboot of “Shaman King,” the anime debut of “Edens Zero,” and the part 2 of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 are all confirmed to premiere in April 2021.

It is still unknown in which month the “My Hero Academia” season 5 premiere date will fall. But spring season in the anime industry typically means anytime between April and June. It is worth noting that its first to third seasons were all given early April release dates. It is then possible for the series to return to its familiar premiere schedule, but it is still best to wait for official announcements.

‘My Hero Academia’ season 5 spoilers: What could happen in the first episode

The level of excitement fans feel for “My Hero Academia” season 5 is very understandable, especially those who are only following the anime. Season 4 ended with an intriguing cliffhanger where Izuku had a dream where he met the former users of the One For All quirk. Izuku awakened with his hand seemingly acquiring the power of One For All. The episode ended without any explanation and Izuku also appeared as puzzled as the anime-only fans may have been upon seeing that last scene.

This dream is a significant turning point for Izuku and the current story arc, so it is likely for the opening of “My Hero Academia” season 5 to revolve around this. In the manga, Izuku’s dream allowed him to interact with the former users of OFA. The first episodes of season 5 should also reveal what specific power Izuku has acquired after having that dream.
