“My Hero Academia Movie 2” has now gotten an official release date, along with a new visual for the film. The recent announcement said that the movie would come out on December 20, a couple of months after the fourth installment of the anime is released.
There were initial apprehensions that “My Hero Academia Movie 2” might come out on 2020 since all that’s been known about the release date is it will drop this winter in Japan. And given that Japan’s winter starts in December and ends in March, the release date was muddied.
But that’s been dispelled now, and fans are now in for a treat this coming Holiday season, Comicbook reported. So what is “My Hero Academia Movie 2” going to be about?
Is there trailer/synopsis for My Hero Academia Movie 2?
Unfortunately, no synopsis or trailer has been revealed so far, so it’s difficult to speculate about the plot of the film. But the new visual for “My Hero Academia Movie 2” hints that Bakugo might play a vital role in the epic battle seeing that All Might’s shadow stretches towards him and Deku. Is the film going to be canon?
Author Kohei Horikoshi hasn’t confirmed anything on this front although he already said that the first movie was indeed canon. However, the events seen in the film doesn’t impact the manga’s story heavily – if at all – so “My Hero Academia Movie 2” might be treated the same way. It also might be the last film of the franchise as hinted by Horikoshi himself, AnimeNewsNetwork reported.
Horikoshi said that “My Hero Academia Movie 2” will act as a sort of “finale” for the films and will be using a battle scene that was supposed to be included in the manga. The manga creator assured fans that the movie would be more “Plus Ultra” than its predecessor, a tall claim given that the Double Detroit Smash is considered one of the best finishers in the series.
My Hero Academia Movie 2 will be more epic than the first film
Which brings us to our previous point. It would be interesting to see how “My Hero Academia Movie 2” will interweave Bakugo’s power with Deku and All Might, especially with the relationship of the two students swinging from foul to friendly to foul again.
Whatever the case, “My Hero Academia Movie 2” is now set to hit theatres on December and fans can’t wait what the writers have cooked up this time. And for anyone fearing that it might not be good enough, Horikoshi will be spearheading its creation again along with other notable individuals that were included in the production of the first film.
