There are many ways fans are getting their inside info about their favorite video games, and datamining is just one of them. It is also the source of recent reports that Rambo could be released as one of the next DLC characters in “Mortal Kombat 11.”
‘Mortal Kombat 11’ leaks: Who would be arriving with Rambo?
The fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios may be having more content coming up other than the recently announced Halloween-themed items. More characters could be in the pipeline of “Mortal Kombat 11” after a known dataminer found some evidence pointing to the release of at least three fighters.
The source of the rumored DLC characters is Twitter user thethiny, who is also a well-known dataminer in the “Mortal Kombat 11” community. It appears that the files released by NetherRealm to update the game in preparation of the Halloween items contained some clues that led to the discovery of the upcoming characters.
Of the three characters reported, the inclusion of Rambo is the most interesting simply because the fictional character was not originally from the “Mortal Kombat” universe. Some video game fans may be too young to know or recall, but Rambo is a popular character played by Sylvester Stallone in the same name movie series that debuted in the ‘80s. As GameRant pointed out, though, it would not be the first time that a classic fictional character from another franchise is released in “Mortal Kombat 11” a DLC character.
Scripts from the “Mortal Kombat 11” files also made mention of Rain in the same line as the words “DLC” and “Characters.” Rain is also a classic character in his own right and was added in the franchise in 1995 in the game “Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.” Developers appear to be bringing more familiar faces to the fighting game as the same datamine included some information about Mileena as part of the upcoming, unannounced DLC.
‘Mortal Kombat 11’ DLC characters release date before the end of 2020?
Thethiny summed up the information from the datamine that reportedly included completed audio files and gears for the three characters. The source added that Rambo’s character so far has “the most gear” out of the three in the upcoming content pack.
Meanwhile, a Reddit user recalled that someone else provided a similar information “a while ago” that was dismissed by some fans as fake. However, the info in question now corresponds with the scripts and files datamined by thethiny. The earlier leaker claimed that the three fighter pack for “Mortal Kombat 11” was originally planned to launch in June but got delayed due to COVID-19 and has since been slated for release in November.
