The California wildfires are still ravaging through various areas of the West Coast state. And, on Sunday, Miley Cyrus confirmed that the home she and Liam Hemsworth once shared was also affected by the ongoing catastrophe.
Despite her break from social media, Cyrus posted on Twitter to confirm that they are one of the many Californians affected by the wildfires. Though she said she was “devastated,” the singer-actress was still filled with gratitude and said, “I am one of the lucky ones.”
She then added that the animals living with them and Hemsworth — whom she referred to as “love of my life” in the post — have safely evacuated at the time of her tweet. “My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong,” Cyrus added.
The Malibu home was, indeed, a memorable one for the couple. Miley Cyrus revealed to Howard Stern’s radio program in 2017 that when she and Liam Hemsworth broke up in 2013, the actor wanted to live away from her so he purchased a house in Malibu.
Hemsworth did not know at the time that the house was the exact same place where Cyrus finished her very first album. She added, “The person [selling the house] hid all the plaques in the garage so he would still buy the house. So then he went to move in and he was like 'F***, I cannot get away, this b**** is all over my f****** house!" They lived together in this home after getting back together in 2016.
The “Malibu” singer also thanked the firefighters and all the members of the Los Angeles Sheriff Department for their work during the wildfires. In the same post, Hemsworth’s ladylove encouraged her fans to donate and then listed a series of links where people can send their support.
Earlier this year, several rumors came out insisting that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth discreetly got married and held the ceremony at the now burned down Malibu home. But in the following months, another source told TMZ that the couple is not rushing to walk down the aisle and view marriage as just a mere “formality.”
