Michael Schumacher’s family members seem to be following in his footsteps. It was reported that one of his nephews, David Schumacher, is being groomed to be the next car racing champ.

David is Michael’s younger brother Ralf Schumacher’s son, and like his father and uncle, he is into racing. He already won in major events so it is being predicted that he will be another one in Schumi’s family who will make a big name in the sport.

Michael Schumacher’s 16-year-old nephew was into go-kart racing and he just graduated from it, according to Express. He won the ADAC Formula 4 cup in September, and apart from competing, he has been spending his time training with his dad.

After winning the rookie award at the Hoffenheim in August, David revealed he was really aiming for that recognition. “The title was my objective from the beginning of the year, and now I’ve done it,” he said. “I’m obviously very happy about that; in fact, I’m overjoyed.”

Ralf also expressed his excitement about his young son’s feat so far. He also hopes that his son will develop more to be one of the best.

“His development has proceeded at a steady pace, and he has been on a steep learning curve,” he relayed to the publication. “Towards the end, he has been one of the fastest drivers in the field, which is in any case already very strong.”

On the other hand, Michael Schumacher’s own son, Mick, is also slowly but surely making a name in the field of racing. He has won a number of races and it is expected that he will gain more wins in the future.

Autoweek reported that Ross Brawn, a famous F1 executive, commented that Mick should join the Formula Two in 2019 and that he should not rush to get into Formula 1. He added that he is excited for the lad because he can see that he is doing so well just like his father.

"But Mick is a very mature young man, and I think he knows he still needs to develop to be ready for being an F1 driver," the executive stated.
