Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's Marriage Reportedly 'Strained' Because of This

Prince Harry reportedly plans to buy a property in the U.K.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage is alleged to be strained due to the Duke of Sussex’s wish to return to the U.K. and buy a new home there. While the brother of Prince William is feeling homesick, Meghan is said to be "less than keen" to return to Britain over four years after the couple left the Royal Family to begin their new life in the United States.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Fighting Over Possible U.K. Return?

Reports have it that Prince Harry is very much “leading” on the notion of having a U.K. base and would not reside on the Kensington Estate but would instead buy their own home. "They will soon start looking for a property of their own near London and Harry is very much leading this. They won't be asking the King for a property on the royal estate due to the issues that arose with Frogmore Cottage,” an unnamed source claimed, as per Express UK.

"Making use of a small apartment in Kensington Palace from time to time isn't out of the question, but when it comes to a home in the UK, they will purchase that themselves,” the same anonymous insider furthered. To recall, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were given Frogmore Cottage to use as their home after they tied the knot but they got evicted earlier this year following the publication of the duke’s memoir called “Spare.”

While a house in the U.K. would allow Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to bond with their royal relatives, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe stated that Meghan Markle has "not given any hints she would want to move back." "Harry's got more reason to come back to the UK than Meghan, so I think we would see these trips, especially if he's involved with things like the Invictus Games, where most of the people who work for that are in London,” he added.

Meghan Markle Sparks Fury After Sporting a Poppy

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle recently wore a poppy brooch on her sweater to the opening of a new Navy fitness center in San Diego, CA. However, some veterans were outraged by her choice of accessory.

For starters, Armistice Day is traditionally observed on November 11 in the United Kingdom and other countries across the world. A red poppy is commonly worn to honor the occasion. However, in the United States, November 11 is observed as Veteran's Day, honoring the military troops, and wearing a poppy is not mandatory.

Poppies, on the other hand, are frequently worn by Americans during Memorial Day, which occurs in May and has a similar function to Armistice Day. "In 2017 the American Legion Family won the support of Congress to designate the Friday before Memorial Day as National Poppy Day where all Americans are encouraged to wear a poppy to honor fallen service personnel and veterans," Newsweek reported.

Some veterans reportedly felt slighted since Meghan Markle chose to wear the poppy in November, honoring the British custom, rather than May, honoring the American one. "Meghan Markle looks like a bloody moron wearing a Royal British Legion Poppy. Who told her wearing a British poppy while 'celebrating American veterans' would be a good look,” a netizen commented.

The “Suits” alum’s pin, however, does not match any of the Royal British Legion's current offerings. Meghan Markle, as expected, remains a contentious figure, as she has been since her first marriage to Prince Harry in 2017.
