McDonald’s U.S. announced it would be launching a hiring event to recruit 5,000 new workers in the South and North Carolina areas. It will be a special week-long recruitment day that will begin on Feb. 28 until March 4.
According to WSPA 7News, McDonald’s U.S. hiring day is set to be held at participating restaurant outlets across both sides of Carolina. Interested applicants should take note that the company will also be holding on-the-spot interviews between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the said dates.
The available job posts to apply for at McDonald’s U.S. outlets in Carolina differs depending on what each location needs. However, applicants are assured there will be managerial and crew positions available.
The exact locations where the fast-food chain is hiring include Anderson, South Carolina., Asheville, North Carolina, Charleston, S.C., Charlotte, N.C., Columbia, S.C., Florence, S.C., Greenville, S.C., Myrtle, Beach, S.C., and Spartanburg, S.C.
Those who will be accepted will enjoy many benefits such as flexible work schedules, healthcare benefits, paid time off, free meals, and, most of all, competitive wage packages. Fox News Carolina reported that crew members at McDonald’s who work at least 15 hours per week for 90 days are all qualified for tuition fee assistance worth up to $2,500 per year.
The assistance is granted to staff via the restaurant brand’s Archways to Opportunity program. This initiative raises the company’s managers and crew’s access to education through its Career Online High School program, English language courses, college tuition assistance, and a lot more.
“McDonald’s owner/operators across the Greater Carolinas employ thousands of people and we are seeking to hire more than 5,000 during our hiring event,” Cari Sepulveda, a local McDonald’s owner and operator, said in a statement. “As local business owners, we are proud to offer paid time off, healthcare benefits, and tuition assistance to help our employees further their education, whether they’re attending trade school or completing a Master’s Degree.”
Meanwhile, a franchisee in Wisconsin, Pensec Inc., that owns nine McDonald’s restaurants, recently settled its race discrimination lawsuit that was filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). For its failure or refusal to hire Black applicants due to their race, the franchisee is paying $31,137 in settlement, as per Miami Herald.
