McDonald’s is bringing back its McRib sandwich item, but this is probably the last time that this will be on the restaurant’s menu list. This is because the fast-food chain is announcing its comeback while also launching “The McRib Farewell Tour” event.
McDonald’s McRib will only be available for a limited time, and the company seems to be closing the curtain for this signature seasonal sandwich. It is back after a long time and was last seen in McDonald’s restaurants in the United States in November of last year after returning from hiatus since 2005. As per Fox Business, this sandwich was first introduced in 1981 and has continued its limited runs since then.
However, the burger joint is suggesting that this could be The McRib’s last hurrah with the chain stating, "Get one while you can because this is the McRib Farewell Tour, so enjoy our famous pork sandwich as if it's your last!"
McDonald’s senior archives manager, Mike Bullington said that The McRib sandwich is meant to be enjoyed during the colder seasons. He revealed that when it was included again on the menu in 2019 due to popular demand, the company was able to sell 10,000 sandwiches in its 14,000 store outlets across the U.S.
Now the McRib is returning once again, and customers can have them starting Oct. 31. The sandwich is made with boneless pork, pickles, onions, and signature barbecue sauce. This could be its last appearance, so customers should take note that it will only be available until Nov. 20.
Since Farewell Tours always comes with special merchandise to commemorate the item, the McRib will also have custom merch that fans can purchase, including memorabilia, apparel, and art. Prices for these items will start at $0.99.
Moreover, in a press release, McDonald’s said it is also offering the sandwich’s hit songs as it says goodbye.
“Before the McRib takes its final bow, we are paying homage by bringing fans on a trip down memory lane with the McRib's ‘Greatest Hits’ - featuring special moments that made the McRib the icon it is today - for all to reminisce and enjoy. *mic drop*” McDonald’s stated.
Finally, The McRib Greatest Hits include the "McRib is Born," "Mini and Me," "500 McRib Miles," "McRib 24/7," "The Future is McRib,” “My BBQ BFF,” and “See Ya Later, McRib”
