McDonald's is gearing up for a busy week with the return of the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese, the launch of the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, and a new Special Grade Garlic Sauce, developed in partnership with Jujutsu Kaisen, available exclusively through the McDonald's app.
McDonald's Brings Back Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder and Introduces Kit Kat McFlurry and Garlic Sauce
McDonald's Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese will be reintroduced to the restaurant menu, along with the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry and Special Grade Garlic Sauce.
As Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) reported, McDonald's is preparing for a busy week with the introduction of three limited-time offers: the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese, a Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, and the new Special Grade Garlic Sauce, which was developed in partnership with Jujutsu Kaisen.
McDonald's Japan's characteristic black garlic sauce inspired the new garlic sauce launched today on the chain's app. This is McDonald's second anime-themed campaign in recent months and part of the company's partnership with the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.
McDonald's will reinstate its Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with cheese for a restricted period on July 10. The product was introduced in 2022 and comprises a sesame seed bun, a beef quarter-patty, two slices of American cheese, three half segments of Applewood smoked bacon, three Roma tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and a smoky BLT sauce. Additionally, a Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder includes two beef patties.
To fortify its market position in the cattle sector, McDonald's has introduced this return. Jo Sempels, McDonald's president of international developed licensed markets, stated during the company's investor day after 2023 that the company has "identified unmet customer needs and significant opportunity to drive future growth in beef."
“That is the large beef burger customer and their desire for larger, high-quality burgers that fill you up and are delivered in a convenient and affordable way," he said.
McDonald's Unveils Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry Ahead of National French Fry Day Celebrations
McDonald's new Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry, which will be released on July 10, is a treat that combines vanilla soft-serve ice cream with banana, strawberry clusters, and portions of Kit Kat wafer bars. This announcement follows the chain's recent introduction of the Grandma McFlurry, which combined vanilla soft-serve ice cream with syrup and chopped confectionery pieces.
The chain is also preparing for National French Fry Day on July 13, during which app users can receive a complimentary order of fries of any quantity. The event is if three LTOs were insufficient to keep restaurant crews occupied. Additionally, McDonald's $5 Meal Deal remains in effect.
The meal, introduced in response to decreased traffic, includes four Chicken McNuggets, small potatoes, a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, and a small soft drink. Gordon Haskett's preliminary traffic research indicates that the $5 meal resulted in a modest increase in traffic, with a 1% year-over-year increase in the 11 days ending on July 5.
