McDonald’s Launches Adult Happy Meal Inspired by Friends, Featuring Iconic Menu Items and Collectible Figurines
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic 90s sitcom Friends, McDonald’s Spain has launched a special Happy Meal that pays homage to the show. The meal is aimed at adults and features items that were often enjoyed by the characters on the show, which could hint at future strategies by McDonald’s to attract older customers.
Since this Happy Meal is designed for adults, the usual six-piece chicken McNuggets won’t suffice. Instead, customers can choose from more substantial options like a Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, McRoyal Deluxe, CBO, or McChicken. Additionally, the collaboration introduces an exclusive sauce called Monica’s Marinara, a unique and limited-edition sauce that pays tribute to the character Monica Gellar’s culinary expertise. The meal also includes a standard drink and fries.
Each Happy Meal comes with one of six collectible figurines of the main Friends characters—Phoebe, Joey, Ross, Rachel, Chandler, and Monica. These figures will be available throughout the month, with any remaining stock offered at the end of the month for those looking to complete their collections.
McDonald’s Spain Brings Friends to Life with Daily Quizzes and Central Perk-Themed Dining Experience in Madrid
To engage fans further, McDonald’s Spain will release a daily quiz about Friends, making the experience not just about the food but also about the fun and excitement of the show. The quiz will award 500 reward points to five winners daily. These points can be redeemed for exclusive Friends-themed merchandise, such as tote bags or key holder frames.
In a special event on October 10, McDonald’s will transform its Montera Street location in Madrid into Central Perk, the iconic coffee shop from the show. This will allow fans to immerse themselves in their favorite Friends scenes. The transformation is set to replicate the show's atmosphere, bringing a wave of nostalgia to the dining experience and making it a truly memorable event for all Friends fans.
