'Madam Secretary' Season 5 Episode 1 Spoilers Include Hillary Clinton Appearance

"Madam Secretary" Season 5 Executive Producer Lori McCreary is very excited to launch the premiere of the TV series. Well, the reason is, Hillary Clinton will appear in Episode 1.


During an interview with Cinema Blend,

"The premiere episode talks about so many issues. It talks about the difference between patriotism and nationalism. It shows Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord reaching out, and reaching back to former Secretaries of State to ask for advice and to find the things that worked for them, and sometimes the things that didn't work for them..." McCreary told CB.


"Madam Secretary" Season 5 kicks off with some of the biggest cameos of the fall season. Aside from Clinton, the CBS drama will welcome back former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. This character appeared in a Season 2 installment. Her successive former Secretaries Colin Powell and Hillary Clinton will be making their debuts in the episode.

The episode's synopsis revealed that the White House will be the target of a frightening and deadly attack. With that, Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) has to do some quick thinking and ensures to choose the right decision in order to keep her nuclear disarmament deal from dissolving.

In the trailer,Téa Leoni’s Elizabeth McCord seeks advice from her predecessors’ advice about responding to a delicate situation. There's a clip where you can see Hillary waiting for Elizabeth.

What will happen to Elizabeth and Henry in Madam Secretary Season 5?

A sneak peek shows the crisis is India, and both Elizabeth and Henry McCord have their own sentiment. The two have different views on how to respond on the crisis. Elizabeth is considering a diplomatic response to ethnic violence, while Henry pushes for a stronger one. Apparently, there will be some clear tension between the two, according to Carter Matt.
