Fans have successfully saved the Tom Ellis-led show and they are now awaiting the announcement of “Lucifer” season 4’s release date on Netflix. However, the producers and the streaming service company have yet to reveal the much-awaited premiere date. On a positive note, the Lord of Hell will certainly return this year.
For the past couple of seasons, the show has had a consistent premiere set in fall of 2016 and 2017. However, considering that Fox canceled the show and Netflix revived it in mid-2018 maintaining that cycle was apparently not possible. In fact, the production of “Lucifer” season 4 officially wrapped up in late 2018 leading to the promised 2019 release date.
Reliable news source TVLine also came up empty-handed when asked about the “Lucifer” season 4’s specific release date. However, reporter Matt Webb Mitovich reiterated that the show's Netflix debut is happening “later this year.” This could also mean it might be set sometime in the second half of the year.
Meanwhile, one of Netflix's official Twitter pages also told fans about the “Lucifer” season 4 scheduling, “The date OF the date announcement will only make sense in retrospect.” The post is completed with a winking face emoticon and further ignited the theory that the big news is happening on some important dates for the show.
There are now suggestions that Netflix might announce the “Lucifer” season 4 release date on Friday, May 10. It can be recalled that Fox announced the show’s cancellation on Friday, May 11, 2018. However, if Netflix is also aiming for a premiere later in 2019, another date to consider is Friday, June 14 — Netflix announced it picked up the show on Friday, June 15, 2018.
As fans wait for the official release date announcement, they might want to savor some of the revealed spoilers for “Lucifer” season 4. The same TVLine report confirmed that Maze (Lesley Ann Brandt) will have her own romance arc in the upcoming episodes. “Season 3 explored what relationships and friendships feel like and how you can be let down and make up, while Season 4 is now about her finding her someone,” Brandt teased.
