Danish executive Lone Fønss Schrøder becomes chairman of Nustay.com - vows to aid ambitious plan for rapid growth, embraces blockchain and applauds headhunting of new CMO and CFO.
Danish executive Lone Fønss Schrøder will take seat as chairman of the newly established board of hotel booking website Nustay.com after the General Assembly on March 20, 2018. A former member of the management of A.P. Møller-Mærsk (1982-2004), Lone Fønss Schrøder is board member of major companies like IKEA and Volvo Cars and has a fintech portfolio of her own. Regarded as one of the most accomplished female business executives in Europe, she comments on her new chairman challenge to take Nustay.com global:
»I am thrilled to assume the position as chairman of Nustay.com. The company has delivered proof of concept and is closing in on delivering proof of business and scale. To fuel further expansion and challenge the global Online Travel Agent market, we are currently working to integrate blockchain technology, and I look forward to help the management navigate the big perspective«, says Lone Fønss Schrøder.
»Lone is a major win for Nustay.com and will become an important asset towards fulfilling our ambitious plan for rapid growth. It marks the beginning of a vital transition from startup to enterprise along other major organizational changes. Her endorsement sends a clear message that our cutting edge technology is a serious contender to the market - and that blockchain is winning over the establishment«, says Nustay.com founding CEO Mathias Lundoe Nielsen, who is looking forward to disclosing more details on the integration of blockchain technology.
Nustay.com next Momondo
Nustay.com is a best-price hotel booking website with the market’s smartest solution to discover, book and enjoy your stay at 1.2 million hotels and apartments worldwide. Founded 2014 in Denmark, Nustay.com is disrupting the global travel market by democratizing the world’s best rates with next-generation technology.
»What Momondo did for flight tickets, Nustay will do for hotels, and with an advanced technological design we are uniquely equipped to fill that void beyond Scandinavia and into the global market«, says Mathias Lundoe Nielsen.
For that purpose, he notes that Nustay.com has recently headhunted Momondo and Kayak’s VP of Head of Online Marketing (2011-2018) Kasper Engelheim Hove, who took office as CMO on March 1, 2018, and Simon Lajlev Larsen as CFO - a former VP of Pandora (2011-2013).
Beats competitors 4 out of 5 times
Since its foundation in late 2014, the team behind Nustay.com -who as of today counts 50 full-timers at offices in Copenhagen and Kiev- has worked vigorously towards refining the technology behind the platform. Major advancements have made possible that Nustay.com today processes on average more than 100.000 search requests a day for consumers worldwide seeking the best price:
»We are measuring our prices in real time versus the competitors and current estimates show that in approximately 4 out of 5 cases, we are cheaper than our competitors. Next challenge is to refine UX for a more smooth experience, so that we may increase marketing and begin scaling«, says Mathias Lundoe Nielsen, who underlines that results may vary dependent on factors like geography and customer profile.
»Albeit an enterprise is emerging, we still consider ourselves a startup with all the challenges and variables associated. However, we have reason to believe that Nustay.com will become a global contender in online hotel booking, and with a half a trillion dollar market at hand thus potentially a major Danish-founded IT success«, ends Lone Fønss Schrøder.
