Lee Min Ho is set to make a comeback in the drama scene via “The King: The Eternal Monarch.” This was confirmed since April, just a week after he was discharged from the army.
The actor’s leading lady and some co-actors were also named, and Kim Go Eun has been chosen to play the lead actress. Woo Do Hwan, Jung Eun Chae Kim, and Kim Kyung Nam were also confirmed, but other details about the drama are not available yet.
Min Ho’s update
There is no news about Min Ho’s new drama for months, so fans are really happy when the actor himself gave an update on Aug. 23. He dropped some teasers via his second public Instagram Live session, and it was a fun event for his followers.
Lee Min Ho was at the lakeside in Gapyeong when he went live and revealed some major details about “The King: The Eternal Monarch.” He said that his reunion project with screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, who also wrote “The Heirs,” will finally begin filming and he disclosed its release date as well.
"The script is out already. We're going to start filming soon, and the earliest we might begin filming is in September,” Soompi quoted the actor as saying. The drama is scheduled to begin airing in March. I'm going to become the king of romance, so look forward to it."
Lee Min Ho also promised that everyone would like the drama. He said that he would work hard to make sure that the outcome of their filming will be good enough to make the viewers happy.

This drama will tell the story of two worlds. It is like featuring the past and present, and people from both worlds happened to meet each other as they both try to work on the same mission of closing the door, a passage to get to either the modern or old world.
The King in the old times that will be played by Lee Min Ho ( Emperor Lee Gon) will ask the help of the modern-day detective played by Kim Go Eun (Jung Tae-Eul), and together they will figure a way to seal the passage before people from both worlds learn about its existence and cause chaos. The drama will be directed by Baek Sang-Hoon who also took the helm in the worldwide hit “Descendants of the Sun.”
