Lee Min Ho is making his comeback after almost three years of hiatus. He will be returning in the drama scene via SBS’ “The King: The Eternal Monarch,” and since its premiere is just around the corner, fans can already see what to look forward to in the upcoming drama.

This is because the drama’s behind-the-scenes stills, posters and trailers were released and they gave away many spoilers. This strategy to make the fans more excited for the premiere is actually effective as they are on standby and waiting to see Lee Min Ho again.

But of course, it is not just the “The Heirs” actor that the viewers should watch out for but his equally talented co-stars as well. Below are some of the highlights to expect in “The King: The Eternal Monarch.”

Drama’s interesting theme

Lee Min Ho’s comeback drama is the newest work of acclaimed writer Kim Eun Sook and this is her second time to work with the A-list actor. Their first team-up was in the highly successful “The Heirs” in 2013.

With the drama using the two parallel universes theme where an emperor from the old Korea travels to the present-day republic to get help with sealing off the portal that connects the two worlds. He met a modern-day detective Jung Tae Eul played by Kim Go Eun and they will work together to save lives.

Min Ho’s voice in the drama

Fans who viewed the official trailer of the drama were surprised to hear Lee Min Ho’s voice. They said that he sounds different in this screenplay and they were amazed. Koreaboo reported that the 32-year-old actor has been working on his diction so he can deliver his lines in a convincing way as he wants it to be natural as possible.

Surely, his efforts paid off as many fans like his voice even though it’s different from his usual self. “It is really different. This is kind of cool,” one fan commented while another one said, “I used to stan him but have never heard this voice before.”

The king’s bodyguard

In the stills, aside from Lee Min Ho, what caught the most attention was the images of Woo Do Hwan who play Jo Young, the emperor’s bodyguard. He was quite a stunner in the posters and fans agree that he looks really charismatic that they are looking forward to seeing more of his him and his skills as a versatile actor.

New cast member

Lee Min Ho and the rest of the cast members are done with filming the drama but it was only revealed now that Girl’s Day’s Sojin had been added to the “The King: Eternal Monarch.” as per Soompi, it was only on March 27 when it was announced that the idol singer also participated in the drama and she was picked after auditioning for the role.

Lee Min Ho’s “The King: Eternal Monarch” is set to be released on April 17 at 10 p.m. KST.
