Lee Min Ho: Actor selected as Korean language ambassador and newest face of Korea’s retail conglomerate Shinsegae

Lee Min Ho

Lee Min Ho was chosen to be the new face of the Shinsegae Chosun Hotel owned by one of the biggest retail companies in Korea. He will now be promoting the hotel after Shinsegae formally announced this week that the “Legends of the Blue Sea” actor had joined the company as its official endorser.

It was also stated that a marketing campaign featuring Min Ho would be launched soon to attract more customers in the country and overseas. The leading hotelier has high hopes that with the star’s popularity and clean image, the hotel and its brand will become more well-known in Asia.

According to Korea’s Pulse News, Lee Min Ho was present at his appointment ceremony, and his work for the company officially started that day as well. After the ceremony, he attended different events at The Westin Chosun Busan hotel in Busan and Seoul’s L’Escape’ hotel. He also posed for the camera for photoshoots that will be used for the marketing campaign.

Ambassador of the Korean language

Aside from commercial endorsements, Lee Min Ho is also popular when it comes to becoming an ambassador for government and non-government organizations. In fact, he was recently picked to be the promotional model for King Sejong Institute, the state-run org that is dedicated to the task of spreading the Korean language and culture to the world, Korea Herald reported.

Min Ho is recognized as one of South Korea’s well-loved actor, and he is loved in many other Asia countries too. This is why he is the best choice for the job of helping to spread his nation’s culture.

Lee Min Ho’s appointment was formalized in June during the annual World Korean Educators Conference organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The event gathered teachers and instructors of the Korean language from around the globe, and they shared their knowledge and experiences in teaching the Hangul.

"It's been 13 years since I made my debut. I have met a lot of foreign fans in many countries," he said as he accepts his appointment. "Whenever I encountered them trying to talk to me, even in poor Korean, I was touched and hoped to find ways to help them."
