Fans who ship Lady Gaga and Christian Carino together are in for some bad news. It was recently confirmed that the singer-actress broke her engagement with the latter and reports have it that a third party could be involved.
A source of PEOPLE revealed the news on Feb. 19 and was later confirmed by Lady Gaga’s rep on the same day, according to Page Six. The unnamed insider added that Lady Gaga and Carino had broken up “a bit ago.”
Since Lady Gaga is one of the most followed stars, fans can expect a frenzy of cheating rumors to ensue. But the same source implied it was not the case and there was “no long dramatic story” to it. “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end,” the insider explained.
Before the breakup was confirmed, Lady Gaga and Carino had attended a couple of major awards shows together for her very successful movie “A Star Is Born” with Bradley Cooper. The film's soundtrack “Shallow,” which she sang, already won various prestigious awards such as a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and a Grammy.
Lady Gaga’s acting performance has also been recognized through Best Actress award nominations. She has yet to win in this category in previous awards shows, but note that she is also in the running to win this award at the Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 24.
As expected, the slew of cheating rumors following Lady Gaga and Carino's split already started with the first report coming from Radar Online. A tipster of the media outlet claimed, “Christian was sitting in the Sunset Tower restaurant on Friday night with a pretty brunette. They were holding hands and it looked like a romantic date.”
As the news of her breakup from Carino hit the stands and online sites, Lady Gaga reportedly went to Mexico for a vacation. The two was confirmed dating in February 2017, which was about seven months since the singer confirmed her amicable split from ex-fiancé Taylor Kinney.
