LF Corp. is a fashion company in South Korea, and the abbreviation stands for “Life in Future.” for the brand, fashion is more than just clothes and believes it reflects the cultural trend of an era, character, and lifestyle.
Now, with the current fad in the South Korean fashion scene, LF is bringing back a clothing line that has become very popular in the 1990s. It relaunched the Tipicosi brand after people started to rave about the “newtro” fashion, a term that was formed after combining “new” and “retro.”
Young people in the Gen X era, especially the students, are diving into this newtro craze thus, LF sees it as perfect timing to revive the Tipicosi brand. Moreover, the heated response of the Gen MZ to the 1990s styles prompted the fashion firm to reintroduce the brand.
This revival just shows that fashion is indeed just revolving rather than disappearing with time. The Korea Economic Daily reported that LF relaunched Tipicosi earlier this week, and it will be online-based for now.
It was noted that Tipicosi became popular after fashion was mixed with hip-hop and reggae music in the 1990s. The local hip-hop group Seo Taiji and Boys was also hired as models for the brand, and this led to the massive demand for the clothing line.
LF tweaked the brand a bit so it can relaunch improved versions of Tipicosi items. But then again, the company will maintain the brand’s legacy and will still apply musical elements in the designs.
"We planned the relaunch of Tipicosi among LF-owned brands because we consider it unique with a new market appeal to Gen Z," an official of LF Corp. said in a statement. “TIPI COSI is working to present a new lineup of items that helps the older generation feel nostalgic for the good old days and gives the young unique and fresh experiences.”
Finally, Pulse News mentioned that with Tipicosi back in the country, people could expect to see more denim and cargo pants as the interest in these new trends is growing by every day.
