“Kung Fu Panda” is a much-awaited animation film. In fact, after the third movie sequel, fans are already asking for the next. However, it has been two years since “Kung Fu Panda 3” was released and there is still no word when the fourth one is coming.
Many fans already doubt that another "Panda" movie is showing in the future but they recently had their hopes up again when “Kung Fu Panda” director Jennifer Yuh Nelson commented on the movie. She was a major contributor to the massive success of Dreamwork’s animated franchise.
In a phone interview, Metro had the opportunity to speak with Nelson. The publication asked her for an update on another movie with Po. She was also asked if the fourth installment is ever coming at all.
In her reply, the director said, “I really don’t know. For me, it had always been a trilogy, in terms of the exact arc that we were working on.” She added that she really has no idea about what the plans are for the "Kung Fu Panda" franchise.
But she admitted that the bosses might already be cooking something up. “Po is the world. So I am sure something will happen at some point, but it’s just that I don’t know what.”
Nevertheless, EconoTimes previously reported that “Kung Fu Panda 4” is already confirmed after DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg revealed in 2011 that the movie will have as many as 6 sequels.
“Kung Fu Panda’ actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years,” Katzenberg told Empire in an interview.
The release date for “Kung Fu Panda 4” is not yet available. Apparently, it has yet to go into production so they can schedule a date.
