“Krypton” Season 2 will be featuring several iconic villains in the DC universe, along with the titular anti-hero, Lobo (Emmett J. Scanlan). It’s still unclear how exactly this character will fit into the narrative; whether or not he’s going to be aiding Seg-el (Cameron Cuffe) or hindering his efforts.
The trailer for “Krypton” Season 2 doesn’t offer much about this regard even though Lobo can be seen attacking Seg-el and his companion. The skirmish isn’t surprising since Lobo has been established as a character that shoots first and asks questions later.
The overall look of the villain pretty much follows the image of Lobo in the comics, leading most of the fans relieved at how the character’s been created. However, it’s still up for contention how Scanlan will portray the ruthless bounty hunter in “Krypton” Season 2. Scanlan said that he has immersed himself into comics to get a good idea how to bring the character to life, IGN reported.
He also said that Cuffe and showrunner Cam Welsh being fans of the character helped him get into the character more. Having said all of these, it’s likely that Lobo will be a protagonist in “Krypton” Season 2 given that there are already several bad guys that are going to take center stage throughout the story. General Zod (Colin Salmon) is being billed as the main antagonist of this installment, with Brainiac (Blake Ritson) and Doomsday providing additional tensions as well, ScreenRant reported.
Where the first entry was geared towards worldbuilding, “Krypton” Season 2 will be establishing the Man of Steel’s legacy. It’ll also highlight several different perspectives of the protagonists, causing them to collide with each other and threatening their desire to achieve a brighter future.
With regards to its release date, “Krypton” Season 2 has been slated to drop on June 12. Naturally, fans are expecting big things from this installment, with some of the pressure mounted on Scanlan’s shoulders.
